East Van Exploration

Have you ever used a map to explore your neighbourhood ? Have you ever wanted to discover the diversity of East Vancouver?

Each neighbourhood has different spaces to discover. There are a number of green spaces, murals, alleys and book nooks in surprising places. I invite you to discover these with me.

At the beginning of the walk we'll meet at my house then use a map to plan our route and go discover new places in East Van.

To explore this experience together, we can...: Learn to read a map of the neighbourhood.
-: Plan your route and then explore it together.
-: Compare the diversity of East Van with the diversity of your own neighbourhood.

You get to this experience by bus. It takes most people about 8 minutes to get from the bus stop to the host’s home. Depending on which way you come from, there may be one busy street to cross. There is a traffic light at the nearest intersection to the bus stop if you need to cross. You also cross one not-busy street to get from the bus stop to the host’s home. There is no traffic light or crosswalk on this crossing. There are sidewalks all the way from the bus stop to the host’s home, and the curbs are all ramped.

Should I bring money: No money is needed.
What else should I bring: Comfortable shoes, warm waterproof clothing (we will be outside!), a camera or cell phone that takes photos, your smile!
