The Curious Interviewer: Have great conversations!

Ileana likes to explore and learn new things, meet people and make connections. Informational interviews are a fun, interesting and effective way to learn more about the things, people, activities that you're curious about. Asking questions is also a great way to connect with others!

Maybe you'd like to find out how to find a job that matches your interest, or to explore a new hobby. Meeting new people with curiosity and questions can be helpful.

She'll share how you can set-up and prepare for informational interviews and connect with people who have similar interests to you, or work in jobs you might want to do one day.

To explore this experience together, we can...: Watch videos of different people doing informational interviews and see what you like about their style.
-: Identify one person that you're curious to talk to, draft an email to get in touch, build a list of questions you can ask, think about what you might want to say about yourself and prepare a thank you message.

1. What jobs do your family members have? How about your friends? Do you know what they do during a typical day on the job?

2. What is a company/organization you find interesting and you are curious what it would be like to work for them? A food truck? The public library? A college or university? The RCMP? A startup company?

3. What jobs do Kudoz hosts from your past experiences have? Would they be good info interview candidates you could also practice with?
