What goes into making a good product? How do you choose materials, and figure out what will sell? How do you get it to a customer?
Join the Lunapads team to discover how they've made their amazing lineup of products! Lunapads is a women-owned, environmentally-focused business. They make cloth pads and period underwear.
In this experience, you'll meet with their product design team. Talk about the kinds of fabrics Lunapads uses , and the reasons why they chose them. Test out different fabric's absorbency, feel, and colours. See all of the textiles and packaging they use to make - and send! - their products to customers.
Plus, get a peek into one of Lunapads' factories! It's just a few doors away . Meet the manager, Doris, and see how a product is actually made.
This is an amazing experience for anyone who's thinking about starting their own business, or who's curious about sewing and fabric projects.
The Lunapads office is located in an easy-to-access building on Commercial Street. (Be careful - it's very near to Commercial Drive, but Commercial Street is a different road!) If you're coming from the Skytrain, it's about a 15 minute flat walk from Commercial-Broadway station. The #20 bus also stops very close to the Lunapads office.
The building is easy to find. Look for the green awning that says, 'Lunapads'!
